Kyoto has been a center of various cultures since ancient times, and is home to many famous Japanese restaurants. Enjoy Japanese cuisine in a private room without hesitation, even if you tend to think of Japanese restaurants as being too formal.
HACHISEI
HACHISEI has been in the tradition of Kyoto cuisine for two generations. You can enjoy kaiseki cuisine without feeling self-conscious. The restaurant serves only "omakase" kaiseki courses both day and night, using seasonal ingredients purchased at the central market.
"Omakase" is a Japanese dining experience where the chef creates a curated menu based on the freshest and finest ingredients available that day. The term "omakase" translates to "I'll leave it up to you" in English, indicating that the diner entrusts the chef to select and prepare dishes according to their expertise and creativity. This style of dining emphasizes the chef's skill, creativity, and ability to showcase seasonal ingredients in unique and delicious ways.
The beautifully presented 'Hassun' (appetisers) show the changing seasons from the ingredients to the decoration. The tableware for each dish is also noteworthy.
The restaurant is set up in a chic Japanese modern style. The chefs greet you with a warm smile so that first-time visitors do not feel nervous.
